Special donor programs help to meet the annual financial needs of the Shrine and grounds.

Costs of maintaining the shrine statue, upkeep of grounds, providing free literature, roadside signs and incidental expenses are partially funded by freewill donations. Remaining normal expenses must come from other sources.

Name plates in honor of deceased loved ones are added to the Memorial Grotto on the grounds of the Snowshoe Priest Shrine, whenever gifts of $50 or more are received in the name of the departed relative or friend. Donations in honor of deceased persons usually are the result of requests for donations to the Bishop Baraga Foundation in lieu of flowers, or are made by family or friends. Name plates available in the grotto are 1" x 4" or 2" x 4", depending on the donation.

When donations of $1,000 or more are received, a 5" x 10" plaque is cast with the inscription of the donor's choice. These plaques are attached to the large stones on the south side of the statue.
